  • Who are the modules of Let's Cook French aimed at?
Let's Cook French modules are available to everyone interested in learning to cook delicious typical French recipes, following a step-by-step method with our detailed recipes and tutorial videos, in the comfort of their own home. Whether you are new in the kitchen, or a bit more confident, our courses are aimed at cooks wanting to discover French cuisine starting with very easy recipes to more elaborate ones. Our DofE modules are structured so you can choose them according to your level. Just check with your advisor before booking.
  • Do you cater for vegetarians or people with gluten allergy?
Yes, we cater for vegetarians, as all our recipes have a vegetarian option. For gluten allergies, we might try to find alternatives, but it might not be possible for all recipes involved. Contact us if you have any other dietary requirements. We will strive to provide you with an alternative.
  • How long do I have access to the course?
Whether you have purchased a module to discover French cuisine, or a module to achieve a skill section of your Duke of Edinburgh Award, you will have lifetime access (meaning as long as the course is live) to both the documents and videos. You can watch the videos at your own pace and as many times as you want.
  • Do I need to buy a lot of equipment to make the recipes?
All you will need are basic cooking tools, generally found in any kitchen such as: - Any type of small, medium and large bowls - Wooden spatula and spoon - Chopping board - Paring or utility knives - Pans and frying pans - Oven proof dishes - Oven mitts - Colander or sieve - Round, rectangular, or square cake moulds - Cupcake moulds - Baking paper and cling film - Hand whisk or electric whisk - Timer (you can use a phone timer) - A weighing scale is ideal for pastry recipes. These essentials will help you cook the delicious dishes provided in the modules.
  • I'm registered for the DofE. Do I have to do the recipes in a specific order?
You can complete the recipes in any order you like. However, we strongly encourage you to start with the introductory information regarding health and safety in the kitchen (called step 1). This will ensure your cooking journey starts on the right foot!
  • What happens if I miss a week of cooking for my DofE?
We strongly encourage participants to carry out one recipe weekly, to keep a regular and steady pace to finish your module within the timeframe specified by the DofE programme. It can be done on the day that suits your schedule best. If you miss a week, try to fit in the missed recipe the following week to stay on track. We understand there are times when it might not be possible. Contact us if you foresee any issue.
